Professional Massage that is Unrushed and Thorough
After many years of experience as a weekly massage client, I pursued professional massage training. Now I am paying forward the benefits of massage work that I have deeply enjoyed. I am fortunate to have a passion for my work. I believe you will see that when working with me.
After a successful career in Higher Education, I was admitted into the Certified Massage Therapist program at the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am now a Licensed Massage Therapist with the State of Colorado.
My background and activities help me relate to my clients' needs. It includes many years as a part-time aerobics teacher, moderate weight training, lots of bicycling, occasional hiking with friends, and dabbling in sports such as racketball, tennis, and volleyball. I don't consider myself an athlete, but I can relate well to clients with sports and fitness goals. My empathy with my clients' aches & pains and with their desires for wellness helps me provide the best massage for you.
My Philosophy:
I believe massage is an essential part of living well. It can be relaxing, invigorating, healing, centering, and a way to release built-up tension. My massage techniques can also provide performance enhancements for athletic activities.
I believe we naturally respond to therapeutic touch in positive ways. It calms and comforts the body and the mind, creating a path to healing and wellness. I believe massage promotes healing through mind-body-emotion connections.
Client comfort and trust is vital. I strive to create an environment that is safe, quiet, non-judgmental, compassionate, friendly, and confidential. A trusting environment is essential to foster the flow of work from therapist to client in a most beneficial way.
Among the terms my clients have used to characterize my work are "artful," "intuitive," "caring," "compassionate," "perfect pressure, "focused," and "good listener."
I am open to any questions about me or my work. I will gladly discuss any concerns.
